Oleg V. Butov


  Dr. of Science, Deputy Director of Kotelnikov Institute of Radioengineering and Electronics of RAS, head of the Fiber Optics Technologies lab.

  • Oleg V. Butov was born in Moscow, Russia, in 1976. In 1999 he graduated from the Physics Department of Moscow State University and received Master of Physics degree. His speciality is optics and spectroscopy. Since 1996 till 2008 he is with the Fiber Optics Research Center of the Russian Academy of Science (since 2004 in the position of Senior Research Scientist). In 2003 he received PhD degree from the General Physics institute and in 2020 he received Dr. of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics degree from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University). Since may 2008 he is with the institute of Radio-Engineering and Electronics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
    Dr. Butov is a Deputy director of the institute and Head of laboratory of fiber optic technologies.

    Dr. Butov is an expert in:
    - Experimental optics;
    - laser physics;
    - fiber optics, including technology of optical fibers and fiber sensors;
    - condensed matter physics;
    - radiation resistance of optical materials;
    - nanoplasmonics;
    - optical fiber sensorics;
    - radiophotonics.

    Dr. Butov is the author and co-author of more than 100 publications in peer reviewed scientific journals and topical international conferences proceedings.
